Welcome to Cate’s Cakes
My name is Catherine and I’m the owner of Cate’s Cake Company. I’ve been baking since I was a little girl, and I’ve always dreamed of owning a cafe or cake shop. Until recently it has just been a hobby, making cakes for family birthdays and celebrations and mostly just for fun. But, due to a change in circumstances after being made redundant from my job in March 2022, I made the decision to pursue cake making full time, and I’m so excited to share Cate’s Cake Company with everyone!
I’ve completed the Level 2 Food, Safety and Hygiene for catering, as well as the Food Standards Agency and Food Allergy courses and I’m registered with Sunderland City Council and I’m rated 5* for Hygiene with Public Liability Insurance.

If you’re looking for a bespoke cake, just pop your details in the contact form and give a brief description of what you’d like, including any flavours, toppings or decorations required.
Once the cost is approved, you’ll get a sketch first to make sure you’re happy with your creation before any ingredients are mixed.
